Our Church

Highway Worship Center:

Five things about us you might want to know about HWC:

  • Beliefs and Doctrine: As an Assembly of God church, our beliefs are firmly rooted in Pentecostal theology. We believe in the Trinity, the deity of Jesus Christ, salvation through faith in Jesus, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the ongoing work of spiritual gifts and miracles. Our doctrine emphasizes the authority of the Bible and the importance of living a holy and empowered life through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We hold to traditional Christian values and affirm the need for personal salvation and a transformed life through Christ. Our denomination places a strong emphasis on evangelism, missions, and spiritual renewal, seeking to spread the message of Jesus both locally and globally. We adhere to the 16 Tenants of the Assemblies of God (see the link below)

Assembly of God Belief Statement - 16 Fundamental Truths

  1. Worship Style: Our worship style is contemporary-leaning, we incorporate elements of modern music and technology into our services while also honoring our heritage with a few hymns. Our worship is dynamic and engaging, reflecting our belief in the power of praise and prayer. We preach the uncompromised full gospel, unafraid to address challenging topics and truths from the Bible, even if they are not politically correct. Additionally, we strongly believe in the practice of prayer and the laying on of hands for healing and spiritual empowerment, following the biblical model of ministry demonstrated in the New Testament.
  2. Community and Programs: At our church, we offer a range of services and activities designed to cater to the needs of the whole family. We have Sunday worship services where families can come together to worship, learn, and connect with others in the community. Our Wednesday evening services provide midweek spiritual nourishment through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Additionally, on Tuesdays, we host revival prayer meetings where individuals can gather for focused prayer and spiritual renewal. These services and activities offer something for everyone in the family, from children to adults, providing opportunities for growth, community, and encountering God's presence together.

  3. Mission and Vision: Our church's vision is deeply rooted in five key pillars, like a 5 pointed diamond:
    1. The Word of God: We prioritize the teaching and preaching of the Word of God, recognizing it as the foundation of our faith and the ultimate authority for our lives.
    2. Prayer: We believe in the power of prayer as a vital component of our spiritual life and ministry. Prayer is not just a ritual but a dynamic connection with God, where we seek His will and guidance.
    3. Ministry of the People: Every member of our congregation is called to ministry. We encourage and empower our members to use their gifts and talents to serve others both within and outside the church, fulfilling the Great Commission and meeting the needs of our community.
    4. Discipleship: We are committed to the process of discipleship, where believers are equipped, mentored, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with Christ and become mature followers of Him.
    5. Praise and Worship: Worship is at the heart of who we are as a church. We express our love and adoration for God through vibrant praise and worship, acknowledging His greatness and responding to His presence with joyful hearts.
